Fishing Groups

Fishing Groups are simply Communities that have ‘gone fishing’. ‘Fishing’ is not so much a ‘group’ as a lifestyle. Some of Jesus first disciples were fishermen, and he called to them saying; “follow me and I will make you fisher’s of men”. This was clearly a metaphor for a lifestyle of evangelism – living in such a way that people ‘see’ the good news as well as hear it. In the words of St Francis of Assissi, we are encouraged to “preach the gospel on all occasions, and where necessary use words.”

We pray in Communities for friends, colleagues, and all we meet. We pray for one another to be blessed in the following areas;

Body (physically healthy)
Labour (wisdom and success at work)
Emotions (emotionally secure)
Social (good friendships)
Spiritual (spiritually strong)
