Kingdom Footprint

Global warming is a growing concern for the world, but individuals have great difficulty connecting to how they can effect change – or how what little they do can ever help to affect the ‘big picture’.

To help make the connection, someone came up with the term; ‘Carbon Footprint’ to demonstrate how much carbon an average household produces, and therefore how much we can reduce it by doing small things.

Similarly, Christians can often struggle to see how much their contribution is making a difference to advancing Gods Kingdom. In the coming months we will be looking at our ‘Kingdom Footprint’ as individuals and communities, and seeing how the little things, the daily choices we make, have a significant impact in influencing the bigger picture.

Part of our vision statement at The Well is “To partner with God and with others in transforming our nieghborhoods, city and nations.” This is possible only as we become intentional disciples of Jesus Christ. When we decide to live in His world in His way, we discover things start to work as they were meant to. It is clearly a hard path to follow Christ, and yet somehow, at the same time, it is the easiest path to follow, because as Jesus said; “a grain of wheat must fall into the ground and die before it can produce much fruit”.

Christianity is a life of revelation (Rom 8:14).

As Christ is revealed to us we are able to act in a way that transforms our environement because of faith.

We may discover to our surprise that our little trail of ‘Kingdom Footprints’ is in fact clearing a path to hope and salvation for many others.
