relationalPerichoresis is a Greek word signifying the eternal dance of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit. The Christian God is essentially a relational God, otherwise he would not / could not be called the God of love. The members of the Godhead are a relationship that many theologians have likened to a dance. It is this dance; this dynamic relationship to which God calls humanity. Jesus calls us to follow him on an adventure into the heart of God, learning the steps by imitating him. This is the foundation of our theology at The Well. We are dancers with 'L' plates on. We may occasionally step on each others toes, but as we follow our Lord we find this happens less and less, and we have experienced that the joy of the dance is well worth the pain of the occassional crushed toe. To live with God in His world in His way means that things start to work the way they should. In this dance we experience a foretaste of the Kingdom of God, a deposit of the promised justice, peace and joy of the coming Kingdom. This is the formulae of our communitiesHave a close look at our logo (top left) and you will see this perichoresis illustrated in several ways - 1. there are three primary colours indicating the Godhead, & that we are a part of a multicultural family made in his image. 2. There are three fish - can you see them? The fish was a symbol of early believers that summed up their creed Jesus Christ, Son of God, Saviour. 3. They are in a circle that has a rolling momentum. Both God and His church are on the move. There is a journey, a story, a quest and a destination. |
